Time out of the office in our FareShare kitchen is a fantastic investment in culture, relationships and team-building.

Help us cook free, nutritious meals with your colleagues or clients

FareShare offers a unique, meaningful and popular corporate volunteering experience for organisations large and small.

While our Abbotsford kitchen undergoes a major redevelopment, we have moved our corporate volunteering to a temporary kitchen in Alphington in February and March 2024

We encourage you to gather your team together to enjoy a fun and rewarding experience while making a tangible difference to the lives of so many in our community.

We offer shifts on Monday-Thursday for colleagues to build relationships and have fun while processing food and cooking and packing thousands of meals for people in need.

Shift times are:

  • Monday to Wednesday afternoons 1:15pm to 5pm
  • Thursday afternoon 1pm to 4:30pm
  • We also have availability on Monday and Thursday mornings (9am-12:30pm) from January 29-February 1.

Guided by our experienced supervisors, participants process and prepare freshly harvested and rescued vegetables, and assemble and pack single-serve meals, soups and sweet treats that are destined for people in need. They will also learn about food waste, food rescue and food poverty in our city.

FareShare also offers corporate volunteering opportunities at our Derrimut food processing kitchen on Monday and Thursday during February and March, and at our Abbotsford Kitchen Garden on Friday mornings from February.

Feedback has been glowing and some corporate volunteers have gone on to become regular volunteers. Importantly, everyone leaves feeling more connected and knowing they have made a direct social impact.
