Update (Dec 2023): our Abbotsford kitchen is undergoing a major redevelopment and we are operating out of a temporary kitchen until March 2024. We will begin onboarding new volunteers later in 2024 after we return to our expanded kitchen facility in Abbotsford. We ask for your patience.

We run weekday morning, afternoon and evening volunteer shifts in our Abbotsford kitchen, together with Saturday morning and afternoon shifts.

Daytime shifts are usually 3.5 hours long. Evening shifts are 2.5 hours long.

No experience is required.

We ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months.

Volunteers help with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, cutting meat, cracking eggs, making pastries and packing meals.

To carry out this wide range of kitchen tasks, kitchen volunteers must be physically fit, and able to be on their feet for the duration of the shift.

Please register your interest and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

You may also like to consider booking a corporate volunteering shift for your workplace.

Here are some of the tasks you might get up to volunteering in our kitchen:
