FareShare scoops hospitality award as force for good

FareShare is thrilled to be honoured with the Food for Good Award in The Age Good Food Guide Awards 2023.

The Food for Good Award recognises innovation, social enterprise and sustainability while contributing to the wider community.

Marcus Godinho accepted the award on behalf of FareShare from prominent Melbourne food writer and cook Dani Valent at an evening attended by Victoria’s top chefs and restaurant owners.

“FareShare does thoughtful good at every step,” said Dani. “Preventing food waste, reclaiming urban tracts for farming, engaging volunteers and, of course, reducing hunger by supplying nutritious, culturally sensitive meals – there is benefit in everything FareShare does. It truly is ‘food for good’”.

This year’s awards were the first to be held in three years following major disruptions to the industry through the pandemic.

“It was wonderful for people in hospitality to finally get together and to hear from people on the night how much they respect the sector, FareShare, and our chefs and volunteers,” said Marcus.
