Time out of the office in our FareShare Abbotsford kitchen is a fantastic investment in culture, relationships and team-building.

Help us cook free, nutritious meals with your colleagues or clients

FareShare offers a unique, meaningful and popular corporate volunteering experience for organisations large and small.

Every day, we open up our high-volume Abbotsford kitchen for half-day shifts (mornings and afternoons as well as Thursday evenings) for colleagues to build relationships and have fun while processing food and cooking and packing thousands of meals for people in need.

Shift times are:

– Monday to Thursday afternoons 1:15 to 5pm
– Thursday evenings 6:15pm to 8:30pm
– Friday mornings 9am to 12:30pm
– Friday afternoons 1:30pm to 4pm (packing shifts)
– Monday to Thursday mornings during school holidays 9am-12:30pm

Guided by our experienced supervisors, participants process and prepare freshly harvested and rescued vegetables, roll pastry, bake quiches, crack eggs, cook and pack sausage rolls or vegie rolls, or assemble and pack single-serve meals. They will also learn about food waste, food rescue and food poverty in our city.

FareShare also offers corporate volunteering opportunities at our Abbotsford Kitchen Garden on Friday mornings.

Feedback has been glowing and some corporate volunteers have gone on to become regular volunteers. Importantly, everyone leaves feeling more connected and knowing they have made a direct social impact.
