Time out of the office in our FareShare kitchen is a fantastic investment in culture, relationships and team-building.

We're excited to be moving back into our Abbotsford home, where you can help us cook free, nutritious meals with your colleagues or clients

We welcome you to our ‘brand new’ home, which is the largest charity kitchen in Australia.

FareShare offers a unique, meaningful and popular corporate volunteering experience for organisations large and small.

We encourage you to gather your team together to enjoy a fun and rewarding experience while making a tangible difference to the lives of so many in our community.

Bookings are open for shifts at Abbotsford from Tuesday 2 April.

In 2024, corporate volunteering shifts will be held on:

      • Monday to Thursday afternoons 1:15-5pm
      • Thursday evenings 6:15-8:30pm
      • Friday mornings 9am-12:30pm
      • Friday afternoons (packing shift) 1:30-4pm
      • Saturday mornings (occasionally) 8:30am-noon

Please note: Mon-Thu morning shifts – 9am-12:30pm – are also available during school holidays.

The Abbotsford kitchen will have capacity for up to 16 volunteers on each shift alongside our kitchen staff. Larger crews can be accommodated on request.

As a charity, we ask for a financial contribution of $99 per person (+GST) for a 3.5 hour meal production shift. The financial contribution for a Thursday evening production shift or a Friday afternoon meal packing shift is $85 per person (+GST). All volunteers will be provided with a FareShare apron to wear on shift and one to take home to keep or give as a gift.

Guided by our experienced supervisors, participants process and prepare freshly harvested and rescued vegetables, and assemble and pack single-serve meals, soups and sweet treats for people in need. They will also learn about food waste, food rescue and food poverty in our city.

Feedback has been glowing and some corporate volunteers have gone on to become regular volunteers. Importantly, everyone leaves feeling more connected and knowing they have made a direct social impact.
