FareShare & Woolworths: how your small change can make a big difference this month
Woolworths, FareShare’s biggest food donor, is running two campaigns in store to support FareShare from 17 August to 13 September 2022.
The first is a round-up campaign that will run in Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania. Every time you shop at Woolworths until 13 September, you will be asked to consider rounding up your total so that your small change can help us make a big difference in cooking free, nutritious meals for people in need.
The second is a nationwide ready-to-eat campaign. Until 13 September, Woolworths is generously donating 50c to FareShare from the sale of every home-branded, single-serve, chilled ready meal.
The proceeds will be used by our chefs and volunteers to cook delicious meals for people in crisis – meals that are needed now more than ever.
These campaigns continue our partnership with Woolworths, which began in 2008 with a food rescue trial in two Victorian stores and has since grown to over 100 stores donating around 50,000 kgs of surplus fresh food every month.
“By working together, FareShare and Woolworths stop food from being wasted and provide free, nutritious meals for people who have fallen on hard times,” FareShare CEO Paul Conroy says.
“We’re focused on cooking the best possible meals to boost the health and wellbeing of people doing it tough right now. By supporting FareShare at Woolworths, you will make a tangible difference to the lives of people struggling in our communities.”
