The Melbourne production of A Christmas Carol has joined forces with FareShare to help provide meals with heart for people going without this Christmas.
FareShare is proud to be chosen as the official charity partner for the five-time Tony Award®-winning, Old Vic production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol – which returns to the Comedy Theatre this festive season.
With esteemed Australian actor Lachy Hulme stepping into the iconic role of Ebenezer Scrooge, and a supporting cast of talented actors and singers, it is sure to be a great show.
Celebrated by audiences around the world, the joyous and heartfelt production of A Christmas Carol is conceived and directed by Matthew Warchus (Groundhog Day, Matilda the Musical) and adapted for the stage by playwright Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Netflix’s Enola Holmes).
The themes of Charles Dickens’ story of people struggling with poverty in Victorian era London still ring true, with so many people in 2025 struggling to afford the high cost of food.
Audience members attending A Christmas Carol will have the chance to make a donation to FareShare and help provide meals for people facing hardship.
FareShare runs Australia’s largest charity kitchens, with our dedicated chefs and volunteers producing around 3 million healthy and nutritious meals a year.
The delicious meals are made using produce grown in FareShare’s farms, as well as produce donated and rescued from retailers and growers.
These ready-to-eat meals are distributed freely to our network of charity partners and shared with people struggling to put food on the table.
Christmas can be a tough time for lots of people and many of FareShare’s charity partners are seeing an increased demand for food relief.
