As spring gets underway, you can find out how we are growing veggies in the heart of Melbourne with guided tours, talks, workshops and tastings.

We’re opening the gates to FareShare Kitchen Garden, Abbotsford supported by RACV, KitchenGardenOpenDayFBfor a community day on October 15 between 11am and 2pm.

The event will highlight how a former waste ground has been transformed into a thriving community asset by volunteers and is now growing carrots, silver beet, turnips, leeks, parsnips and peas for our kitchen.

Learn how to grow food in an urban environment, about edible plants suited to Melbourne, seasonal gardening and how to manage the inevitable pests.

You can follow us on Facebook for regular updates or get a bird’s eye view with this video. A full program of the Open Garden activities will be published closer to the date.
