Over 80 businesses and organisations provide us with food that would otherwise be wasted, ending up in landfill or being converted into pet food.

We collect all sorts of food: meat that has been ground too fine by a butcher; off-cuts of cheese; fruit and vegies that don’t look perfect but are perfectly edible; high fibre bread not sold on the day it was baked; and packaged items such as fruit juices, breakfast cereals, yoghurts, jams and biscuits. This includes food that is close to its ‘best before’ date, but it must be safe to consume. We do not accept food past its ‘use by’ date.

We are always happy to receive:

  • Pastry
  • Fresh fruit and vegetables
  • Meat
  • Cheese
  • Eggs
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Day old high fibre bread

While we’re particularly keen to receive staples, go on, surprise us! In the past we’ve received prawns, blue cheese, kangaroo, and peking duck and put them all to good use.
